Keltic Kick Concert 2023
Aug 19, 2023 ~ A Perfect Night at The Bijou
In keeping with its "tradition of supporting the arts through film and live performance," the 200-seat historic Bijou Theatre in Bridgeport, Connecticut, hosted Keltic Kick's Concert to benefit Ireland's Great Hunger Museum of Fairfield (IGHMF).
A great time was had by all who attended Keltic's Kick's Benefit Concert at the Bijou Theatre in Bridgeport this past weekend (08/19/2023) This great show of support means the world to all who are working towards creating Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum of Fairfield. The vibrant performance and enthusiastic spirit truly showcased the power of community.
The show kicked off with a short introduction from IGHMF President, John Foley, who gave a narrative of the museum's extraordinary journey in laying the foundation for a new home in Fairfield, CT. IGHMF's mission is to preserve and illuminate the remarkable famine art collection entrusted to IGHMF by Quinnipiac University.
Then Keltic Kick, a local favorite known for their unique blend of energized traditional Irish music infused with their equally entertaining sense of humor took the stage and played a 90-minute set that did not disappoint. The four-member band consisting of Billy Donaldson, Bob Ross, Doug Abel, and 'Fiddle' Mike O'Reilly kept the audience clapping their hands and stomping their feet to the infectious Irish tunes and a few even danced in the aisles.
The evening concluded with a 50/50 and Tullamore Dew raffle.
Ireland's Great Hunger Museum sends 'A Hundred Thousand Thanks' to: Keltic Kick, The Bijou Theatre of Bridgeport, The Staff, The Keepers of the Dew, IGHMF Volunteers and all who joined us at the show to help make Ireland's Great Hunger Museum of Fairfield a reality.
And a very special thank you to the Birthday Boy and event organizer Mark Smith for making this event happen. IGHMF appreciated all your efforts!
